Archiving and transmitting a rich artistic legacy.
The Aubertin Archives is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and transmission of the monumental works of master organ builder Bernard Aubertin. By honoring his legacy, we strive to inspire excellence in the world of arts and crafts for future generations.
Our Mission
Showcase the depth and intricacy of organ building and its associated crafts such as sculpting, woodworking, gilding, and more, through publications, exhibitions, events, and workshops held both in France and internationally.
Our goal is simple
to share Bernard Aubertin’s work with as wide an audience as possible. We strive to promote and perpetuate the arts by allowing others to discover this unique craft. By doing so, we hope in our own modest way to re-enchant the world around us.

Our Goal: Transmission
Discover all the projects in the works that share the legacy of Bernard Aubertin.
Personalized Organ Manufacturing Archives
To preserve and perpetuate Bernard Aubertin’s works, we are creating an online database of his archives, plans, drawings and models. This unique resource will enable professionals and enthusiasts alike to discover the immensity of his legacy. This rather ambitious project demands substantial human and financial resources.
Videos and Podcasts
In addition to the digital archive, the project will include testimonies from the many craftsmen, musicians and organ enthusiasts who have either helped make Aubertin instruments or are allowing them to shine today. This video archive, unprecedented in the history of art, will provide future generations with invaluable testimonies pertaining to Bernard Aubertin’s artistics contributions.
Published Works
Organ manufacturing is a poorly documented subject, with few publications tackling this rather obscure art form. Our project aims to remedy this by publishing a series of books in collaboration with renowned publishers, the goal being to show the full aesthetic and artistic dimension of the organ, through both luxury and simple publications to accommodate all audiences.
Artistic Creations
Bernard Aubertin is renowned in his field for the superb appearance of his instruments, which blend biblical, neo-Gothic and neo-classical references. We draw inspiration from these designs to create items produced by expert craftsmen, aiming to infuse a touch of contemporary creation into our exhibitions.
Audacious, Modern Exhibitions
Our goal is to take the organ out of its liturgical domain and reveal it to the general public by showcasing it in museums. Our project proposes a unique exhibition of organ craftsmanship, using modern techniques, such as 3D mapping, to unveil this fascinating world. Designed as a traveling exhibition, we plan for it to make its debut in Europe before traveling to Japan, where Bernard Aubertin has built numerous instruments.
Open Door Workshop
Bernard Aubertin’s workshops, located in a former 12th-century priory, have always been a popular destination for enthusiasts from around the world. We wish to continue this tradition and welcome visitors from all corners of the globe. This project also aims to support rural life, as the Priory is situated in a small village of 200 inhabitants in the Jura region.
Inspiring the Youth
We aim to organize school visits and bring students to the Priory to introduce them to organ craftsmanship and high craftsmanship art in general. Through workshops and tours, we seek to offer programs to engage young people with the world of artisanal arts.
Public Events
Aubertin organs are located across 3 continents in cities such as Paris, Oxford, and Tokyo. We aim to organize musical events featuring these instruments, combining organs, orchestras, and vocalists to help make the organ accessible to a wider audience. These events will also serve as prime opportunities to delve deeper into Bernard Aubertin's work and raise awareness about this art form with the public.
International Symposia
The world of organ craftsmanship engages talented artists throughout the globe. Continuing our mission of transmission, we aim to organize workshops at Bernard Aubertin's workshops, bringing together young talents in contemporary organ craftsmanship. These workshops will facilitate the passing on of the master craftsmanship and vision to the future of the profession.
