Denis, founder of several companies in Île-de-France, has joined the Aubertin Archives project to lend his expertise as a seasoned entrepreneur. Driven by a passion for the arts and for fine craftsmanship, Denis is an integral part of our team.
Executive Committee
Alexandre spent his childhood around the workshops of the Bernard Aubertin Organ Manufacture before becoming an employee for over 15 years. He holds a degree in design and studied Communication and Political Science in the United States. Alexandre is the founder of the fine craftsmanship house, Le Prieuré and the design studio, Atelier Chimère. Striving to preserve his father’s work, Alexandre founded the Aubertin Archives with the goal of bringing a fresh perspective to the world or organ building and to transmit its artistic and spiritual elements to a wider audience.
Graphic designer, teacher and member of the Porte Latine agency, Viktor is an expert in image and visual communication. Involved in the Aubertin Archives project, he designed all visual communication objects, as well as the platform that will house the numerous archives.
From the United States, Katie is a graduate of Western Michigan University and the University of Strasbourg. As a musician and art enthusiast, Katie serves as a translator and public relations personnel for our anglophone audience. As this project is an international endeavor, her expertise is important for this project’s success on a wider platform.
The Board
Paul Griffith, CMG, is a British businessman and musician currently serving as the CEO of Dubai Airports. A highly accomplished organist, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and has performed at prestigious venues worldwide including Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral in the UK, Notre Dame de Paris in France, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. In 2019, he had the honor of playing for the Papal mass in the UAE, captivating an audience of 130,000 people.
In 2014, Paul acquired an Aubertin Organ for his personal residence in England, reflecting his deep personal commitment to the instrument. He regularly hosts events introducing up to 80 guests each year to the beauty of organ music.
Recognizing the invaluable legacy of Bernard Aubertin’s craftsmanship, Paul has dedicated himself to supporting the Aubertin Archives. He actively contributes to the archiving and transmission projects of this non-profit organization, ensuring the preservation and perpetuation of Aubertin’s artistic heritage.
Drawing on his extensive experience in both business and music, Paul serves as a financial advisor and consultant for the overall development of the project.
Sir Michael Charles Scholar, KCB, is a distinguished British civil servant and accomplished organist. He is an alumnus of St Olave’s Grammar School and St John’s College, Cambridge, where he studied Classics and Moral Sciences. Scholar joined HM Treasury in 1969, holding several high-profile positions, including Permanent Secretary of the Welsh Office and the Department of Trade and Industry. He served as President of St John’s College, Oxford, from 2001 to 2012, during which time he advocated for the installation of an Aubertin pipe organ in the college’s chapel. In 2008, he became the non-executive chairman of the UK Statistics Authority, retiring in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB).
A close friend of Bernard Aubertin and an art enthusiast, Michael is a significant supporter of the Aubertin Archives project, bringing valuable institutional expertise from his prestigious career in service of knowledge and the British Crown.
Nigel De Gaunt-Allcoat is renowned internationally as a performer, specializing in Baroque Keyboard music and Improvisation, as well as an esteemed organ and piano teacher and composer.
As an improviser, he is widely regarded as a leading figure of his generation. Born in Leicester and educated in England, Italy, and The Netherlands, he gained early acclaim in his teens for his mastery of improvisation, a skill he has demonstrated for over five decades across Europe, Canada, the USA, Russia, and Australia.
Highly sought-after as an educator, Nigel has instructed young organists at Oxford and Cambridge Universities for more than 40 years. He has also served as a visiting Tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music, Professor at The Royal Academy in London, and visiting Professor in Dresden and St Petersburg. In 1986, he founded the International Summer Organ Conservatoire (ISOC), initially in England and later in France, where Europe’s leading organists gathered for masterclasses and concerts. The same year marked his debut at The Royal Festival Hall. Nigel has additionally served on the juries of numerous organ competitions worldwide.
